Messier 87 Galaxy

Messier 87 galaxy is a supergiant elliptical galaxy.It was discovered by a French scientist Charles Messier in 1781.It is situated in Virgo constellation. That's why, it is also known as Virgo A. It is 53.49 million light years away. It has an active supermassive black hole in its core. The real image of that black hole was published on 10 April 2019 by Event Horizon Telescope.
